Spring 2021 Library Research Workshops

Workshops are open to students on Vancouver campus.

RSVP using the registration link provided for the workshop(s) you would like to attend, and we’ll send a Zoom link to your Adler email address the week of the session.

Sessions will be recorded and the recording will be sent to all who register.

EBSCOhost searching. Friday March 19, 12pm PT, 75 minutes Register here

This workshop will provide participants with practical skills to successfully search their topics in the EBSCOhost databases. By the end of the workshop, participants should be able to identify which EBSCOhost database to search for their topic, efficiently use subject heading searching, utilize truncation & wildcards for keyword searches and save and rerun searches with an EBSCOhost account. Please come prepared with your own research topics and questions!

APA PsycInfo: Hone basic skills & learn advanced tools. Friday April 9, 12pm PT, 75 minutes Register here

This workshop will provide participants with practical skills to successfully search for their topics in APA PsycInfoBy the end of the workshop, participants should be able to effectively use subject heading searching, utilize truncation, wildcards, adjacency and field codes for keyword searches, and save and rerun searches with an OVID account.  Please come prepared with your own topics and questions!

RefWorks: The basics. Friday April 16, 12pm PT, 75 minutes Register here

This presentation will demonstrate how to export citations into RefWorks from a database search, the Adler Library catalogue or Google Scholar. We will also cover how to create projects, folders, how to add pdfs, how to manually create a new reference and to edit references. We will also go over how to utilize the word processing plug-in, Reference Citation Manager, for in-text citations and to create a bibliography.
