Adler University

Black-Specific Library Resources: Notes on this collection

A collection works by Black authors about Black clients, Black practitioners, and the Black experience in the United States.

Notes on this collection

In 2020, Adler’s Black community presented the University with the Black Community Demands and Expectations document. This document presented the needs and interests of Black students and employees across the University and included an expectation for the University to designate additional funds for the purchase of Black-specific resources.  The Library used those funds to purchase the books presented in this guide.  Other titles focused on the experiences and lives of Black people in this country and in the mental health field are found in the Anti-racism guide.
