OER Course Transformation Incentive Program 2024 - 2026

Adler University Library announces a 2-year pilot program to fund the adoption of Open Educational Resources (OER) course materials

Selection Process

Deadline for submitting project proposals to Adler Library is March 1, 2024.
Only fully-completed proposals submitted by March 1, 2024 at 11:59 EST will be eligible for consideration for the OER Course Transformation Incentive Program.

Proposals will be evaluated by an internal selection committee.

After they are reviewed internally, Adler Library will submit a grant application to the State of IL by April 1, 2024.

The State of IL will notify library applicants in June 2024 if they are selected for the grant.

If selected for the State of IL grant, Adler Library will notify Project Leaders at Adler University.

Criteria Used to Evaluate Proposals

Project proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Potential cost savings: The proposal includes information on current material costs, frequency of the course offering, and expected student enrollment. Priority will be given to projects which include materials that can be used in more than one program or campus or course (resulting in substantial savings for Adler students).
  • Aims / Objectives: The proposal's objectives are clearly articulated and well-planned. The rationale for approaching the project is clear, and the applicants have reflected on the work necessary to make it a success. 
  • Impact: The proposal articulates how the OER will make a pedagogical impact and foster diversity, equity, and inclusion of marginalized populations.
    If applicable, it describes how it will fill a disciplinary gap (as well as a graduate-level gap) in the existing open course materials
  • Feasibility: The proposal's timeline is feasible and aligns with the work required to complete the project in a timely manner. Priority will be given to projects expected to be used in a course by Spring 2026.
