Library Databases are essential to use when you are researching a topic in the literature.
But, when you're in a time crunch, and only need 1-2 articles on a topic for a course assignment, I recommend using either of these tools:
Best Bet = Subject-Specific Databases include journals in a single field of study and will provide you with search results from scholarly journals unique to an academic discipline.
Depending on your topic, you may want to explore how scholars in related fields such as business, psychology, gender studies, etc. are talking about your topic.
Business, management, economics, finance, banking, accounting
EBSCO option for psychology & mental health. Includes social sciences, medical, business, education, law.
Clinical and social psychology, genetics, psychology of business and economics, criminology, addiction, neurology, public health, and social welfare.
Focus on how gender impacts a broad spectrum of subject areas.
TIP: Library databases with the EBSCOhost interface offer a "Choose Databases" feature which gives you the ability to cross-search several databases simultaneously. Watch this video to learn how to use this feature!
