Citing Measures

In general, if a manual is available for the measure, cite the manual as you would cite a book in APA.

• Author, A.A., & Author, B.B. (YYYY). Title of Manual. Publisher
• Wechsler, D. (2008). Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS-IV): Administration and Scoring Manual. Pearson.

• Author, A.A., & Author, B.B. (YYYY). Title of Test. https://_____________.
• Weiss, M.D. (2014). Weiss Symptom Record (WSR). https://www.caddra.ca/wp-content/uploads/WSR-II_July-11-2022

Cite the database record if the full text is not available.

• Author, A.A., & Author, B.B. (YYYY). Title of Test [Database record]. Test Database name.
• Keulers, E. H. H., & Hurks, P. P. M. (2021). Parental ADHD Screening Questionnaire (PASSC) [Database record]. APA PsycTests.

Cite reviews

Mental Measurements Yearbook was originally a print serial. Therefore, when you're citing a review from the database, you're basically citing a chapter from an edited book. In order to determine the year & edition for the citation, look in the field called "Mental Measurements Yearbook", which is located towards the top of the detailed record:

Here is the format from the APA Manual:

Reviewer, A.A. & Reviewer, B.B. (Year). [Test review of <insert Test Title>]. In A.A. Editor,  B.B. Editor, and C.C. Editor (Eds.), The <insert volume number written out> Edition of the mental measurements yearbook. Retrieved from http://xxxxxxxxxxx.

Example:
