Q: How long can I check out reserve books?
A: Two (2) hours, or until library closes that day
Q: I received a notice from the library saying the book I checked out was recalled. What does this mean?
A: Each semester, we place required books on Reserve. If a required book is checked out, we recall it. Please return recalled books as soon as possible.
Q: How do I know when my materials are due? How do I renew materials?
A: You can check your account online through the catalog, and click the link to Sign In. Go to Library Card or My Loans to see the books you have checked out. This will show you when books are due, and allows you to renew. If the materials are from Adler, you can also stop by the library or call us to renew books (312-662-4038).
Q: I forgot my ID and want to check out a book. Can I still check something out?
A: Yes
Q: Can I search all the databases at once?
A: Searching within specific databases allows you more specificity for your search and retrieves more precise results.
Q: I need help using the databases.

Q: What is the difference between I-Share and ILLiad?
A: I-Share can primarily be used to access books from other libraries. ILLiad allows you to request materials world-wide, so it is primarily used with articles. See the Interlibrary Loan guide for more information.
Q: When will my I-Share book get here?
A: I-Share books typically arrive within 3-4 business days.
Q: When will my ILLiad book/article get here?
A: Books requested through ILLiad usually arrive within 5-7 business days. ILLiad articles usually arrive within 3-4 business days.
Q: Can I read e-books through I-Share?
A: Unfortunately, due to licensing agreements with publishers, e-books cannot be accessed through I-Share. If you are able to go in person to one of the I-Share libraries, however, you may use the e-book on site.
Q: How do I pay a fine?
A: You can pay overdue fines either in person or by mail. The Library can accept cash or a check (made out to The Harold & Birdie Mosak Library). Checks can be mailed to Mosak Library, 17 North Dearborn, Chicago, Illinois 60602. We cannot accept credit cards.
