Common Book Program: In the Time of the Butterflies

The 2022-23Adler University Common Book title is In the Time of the Butterflies, by Julia Alvarez.

The Committee chose this work of historical fiction based on the resistance of the Mirabel sisters to the Trujillo dictatorship the Dominican Republic in the 1950s and 1960s because the decision to take a stand against persecution resonates across decades and borders.
