Tuesday, February 13, 11:45-3:00 p.m.
Join Field Museum educators for a guided tour of Native Truths: Our Voices, Our Stories. This new permanent exhibition allows Native American and Indigenous people to tell their own stories, looks at current issues facing the community, and presents the historical significance of items from the Museum’s collection.
This visit was specifically designed for Adler and will focus on themes from Braiding Sweetgrass, including how the land shapes who we are and the wisdom we gain from the natural world, including plants. We’ll also reflect on the social justice topics of repatriation and the environmental conservation from the perspective of the Native and Indigenous community.
This field trip is limited to 50 students and registration is required. There’s no cost to attend, but transportation to the Museum is not provided. After the tour, participants may tour the rest of the Museum on their own until 5:00 p.m.
