Faculty Development at Adler strives to enable faculty thrive at every career stage by providing development opportunities that offer professional support, foster equity and inclusion, and build community. Our faculty development resources, programs, and priorities are grounded in Adler's mission, the five values that flow from it (i.e., equity, excellence, social interest, courage, and pragmatism) and its current strategic plan, Building Community for Social Justice. We work collaboratively with several departments to provide various options, and we welcome faculty input.

Mandatory Training for Faculty
Curriculum Mapping - A Step Toward Transforming the Curriculum
During these sessions, we will continue to work on the Transforming the Curriculum Initiative by examining courses that contribute to Adler's curriculum. We will look at courses, specifically searching for ways they address learning outcomes that shift our content and teaching away from dominant, oppressive views and approaches.
Faculty members: Please choose one of the times below to work with one syllabus that you use or have developed. Plan to bring the syllabus of a course that you are familiar with. During our time together, we will collaborate and identify the ways that your course addresses one of five specific learning outcomes. This will be used to understand the curriculum of your program.
Each time is a Teams link to the meeting.

Cheryl R. Richardson, Director of Inclusive Teaching and Faculty Development, is here to help.
Email or Book time with Cheryl for a conversation or to schedule an observation of your classroom. Anything that is discussed is held in confidence, and feedback is given on the the elements you choose.
Consider starting a teaching circle (or triangle!), in which you discuss, learn, and share approaches to teaching, research, and leadership. Propose a reading group or study circle to review and share resources from non-canonical scholars.
